School Meals
Our school meals are cooked on site to a high quality for both flavour and nutrition. Payment should be made on Monday for the full week. Please send payment to school in a named envelope. Cheques should be made payable to Middleton Primary School. Money will be carried forward to the following week for any meals missed through absence.
Free school meals are available to children of families receiving certain benefits. Forms are available from the school office.
Children may bring packed lunches instead of having the cooked school meal. They may also bring a drink but it should not be in a glass container or can. Please do not send sweets or chocolate. It is helpful if packed lunches are brought in a small, clearly labelled box. Unfortunately, we cannot supply any cutlery for packed lunches.
Parents are welcome, by prior arrangement, to come to school at lunchtime, to taste and view school lunches. Middleton Primary School is fully committed to healthy eating.
Supervision of children on site during the lunch hour is delegated to a Lunchtime Co-ordinator and Supervisors. Children are expected to follow the day-to-day organisation of lunchtimes and carry out the instructions of the Supervisors.
Children, who cannot behave properly during these times, will not be allowed to remain on the premises and parents will be asked to make alternative arrangements for them.
Milk at School
At morning break time, children in KS1 are provided with a piece of fruit. Children in KS2 bring their own fruit, or may purchase fruit for 15p from the school cook.
